The postcard is rapidly going out of favour. That's a pity. For more than a century it provided views that (seemingly) never changed, with photographers using the same location for decades to take their shots for the local shops, hotels and visitor attractions. Yet change it did, not least with the transport scenery.
These cards are part of a vast collection of real photos and screen-printed cards that I have that offer a brief insight into the way towns changed over the 20th century. |
